The GEJET Relief and Recovery Plan funded by the donation from overseas (Basic Plan)

Since the occurrence of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami on March 11, 2011, the JRCS has received huge sums of donation from Partner National Societies (PNSs) of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement overseas and others. Funded by these overseas donation, the JRCS began to promote recovery assistance programmes for the affected populations following emergency relief as well as collection and reception of Cash Grants. The JRCS had previously implemented recovery projects mainly after large scale disasters occurred abroad in developing countries.
This recovery assistance programmes were a part of assistance activities for a large scale natural disaster in a developed, or a high-income, country, and therefore it is extremely important to share the JRCS’s experience of this event internationally.
