Japan / Earthquake and tsunami-4

On 18 March, Takidashi (preparing meal outdoors) has been organized at elementary school in Sendai by the Yamagata branch of Japanese Red Cross and volunteers.

In order to distribute to as many evacuees as possible outside of evacuation centre, the information has been announced in public prior to the distribution day. Takidashi has been distributed to over 200 persons coming from neighbors.

A total of 600 suiton (traditional dumpling in soup), 110 kg of rice, 400 bread, 1000 tea have been distributed to the evacuees, and delivered to the elders who cannot easily move. “First hot meals since the earthquake, thank you very much.” said among the evacuees.
